Last week we got
a letter in the mail from Alex in NY. She started
off by telling us a few facts about her that
included: She has blue eyes/She likes cookie
dough ice cream/She is a Christian/She believes
that Jesus died on the cross for our sins/There
is no one perfect except for God. Do you know
what I enjoyed about this letter? Her honesty.
She isn't
afraid to tell anyone who she is, and what she
believes about God. It
is always exciting to hear from kids that have
a solid foundation of
faith, even at a young age. That's what makes
what we do so rewarding; helping teach Biblical
principles through our music. Thanks for the
letter Alex! You brightened my day. By the way,
I have brown eyes, I believe that Jesus Christ
died for my sins, and I LOVE COOKIE DOUGH ICE
CREAM too!!!

One of my favorite daily tasks is to help answer
our email that our fans
send to us. They range from questions about how
we started singing together, to saying that they
enjoyed a concert that they recently attended.
It is always fun to hear back from everyone who
has our music. Just a few weeks ago, we got an
email from a Mom with several kids, and how they
were listening to our "10 Commandment Boogie" song
in the van together as a family. In the 2nd verse,
the line "number
7 feels like heaven, but only with your husband
or wife" grabbed their
attention. The Mom explained that this refers
to not committing adultery. Of course their vocabulary
is still expanding, and to make a long story
short, the conversation turned into how babies
get here in the first place. I was literally
laughing out loud at this email. Not only would
I have LOVED to have listened in on that brief
moment in their vehicle, but the best thing is
that these kids were paying attention to every
word of our music. That is why Go Fish exists
in the first place; To share the hope of the
Gospel through our music. Mark 1:17 "Follow
me, and I will make you fishers of men".
No matter what your occupation may be, God will
give you opportunities to share your faith in
him, if you are willing to share it. Thanks again
to the Mom who shared this story with us.......you
know who you are!!!

For a second I
thought a monkey had jumped on my shoulders.
Never mind, just my 7 month old boy Logan. He
has been growing so quickly I thought it would
be fun to share another picture of him. He is
happy, healthy, and is always in a good mood.
I couldn't ask for anything more!
10-15-07
A month ago I took a picture with Logan in his "Super
baby" outfit. We have a new song on Snazzy
called "Superhero" and
we asked all our fans to submit pictures of themselves
dressed up as their favorite Superhero. Logan
told me that he wanted to be a part of this process
too. We got the camera out and 5 minutes later
this is what we had. We both look very strong
and intimidating don't we?
We are working on putting together all the pictures
that we got from all of you and will include
them in our "Superhero" music
video soon. Stay tuned in the next couple months
once we get it finished. It should be fun to
see them all put together. Thanks again, to all
of you who sent us your pictures. They have been
fun to look through.

Yesterday was a day I will never forget. I woke
up at home in my own bed. I went to sleep last
night next to a hospital bed where my wife Amber
and son were sleeping. That's right, you read
correctly. I have a son. I have officially been
promoted to "Dad" status.
It's pretty cool if I may say so myself. Here
are the details:
Logan Robert Folkmann
Born at 11:35am on 8-6-07
Weighed in at 8lbs. 1oz.
20 inches long
Head full of dark hair
Rugged good looks just like his father
Ok, everything you just read is accurate except
for the "just like his
father" part. He is handsome though, I will
admit. Amber and Logan are doing extremely well.
I am proud of them both! I do want to say thank
you to everyone who has kept us in their prayers
the last 9 months. We appreciate it so much.
We do want you to know that if you want to keep
praying that would be ok too! I'm going to need
it now more than ever. Right now, I'm just trying
to figure out this diaper thing.
Hope you enjoy the picture!

Hey everybody!
Wow, it seems like we haven't talked since last
year! Oh that's right, it's 2007. I think it's
time that we catch up. I thought I would share
another picture with all of you. We got this from
a friend in Ohio. His name is Cole. He sent us
this picture of himself on his microphone singing
our songs while watching our Showtime DVD. How
cool is that!!! I think I will keep an eye on
him though. He looks like he may try to take my
job.
We get emails
and letters with pictures all the time from cool
kids
like Cole. We enjoy reading every one of them.
I just thought I'd pass one on to you so you could
enjoy it too!
Speaking of
cool kids.........I'm going to have one of my
own soon. That's right, you read that correctly.
My wife (Amber) and I just found out
that mid July we will be inviting someone new
into our lives. Two weeks ago at a doctor's appointment
a tiny heartbeat confirmed the rumor. We are both
incredibly excited. Now Jamie and Andy can't give
me a hard time about being the only one without
kids. I will be officially in the "DAD"
club. It sure looks like a great club to be a
part of. I can't wait!
I will keep
everyone posted once we get closer to our due
date. We
appreciate your prayers as we begin a new adventure.
We are excited about what God has for us in 2007.
Thanks for stopping by.

Hello friends,
About a month
ago Jamie, Andy, and I went into the studio to
record
voice-overs for our brand new Go Fish Kids Radio
Show. This included verses of the week, the joke
of the week, as well as introducing our favorite
songs. It was a lot of work, but the creative
juices were flowing.
As soon as
we were done recording the radio shows, I got
to thinking about when I was a little kid and
I used to listen to the radio with my Dad. Every
Sunday afternoon we would listen to the weekly
top countdown: The 20 most popular songs that
week in the entire country. I can still remember
asking my Dad, "How do all those groups fit
in the radio station at one time? Doesn't
it get crowded?" I still remember him smiling
as he told me that only the DJ was in the studio.
All those bands had recorded their music beforehand.
They weren't even there!!!
Well, I guess
I had a lot to learn. I never thought that of
all the things I
would someday get to do, my own radio show was
one of them! I have to say, it sure
is fun.
We hope that
you enjoy it........

Getting "real
mail" out of the mailbox is always a highlight
at our house.
Since most of the mail that comes in on a daily
basis are either bills or
junk mail, I welcome with open arms a genuine
letter any day. I got one of those last week.
It even included a couple pictures. (SWEET!!!)
It was from
a friend of mine. Her name is Ellie. She turned
three a couple weeks ago and wanted to celebrate
her birthday "Go Fish Style"! As you
can see, her birthday cake is pretty much the
coolest birthday cake ever! She has also apparently
been designing her own Go Fish Clothing line.
Cool shirt Ellie! I thought I would share these
pictures with all of you since it brought a smile
to my face.
Thanks for
the pictures Ellie! Oh, and happy belated B-DAY.

Hey Ya'll-
That's my Atlanta,
Ga greeting for the day. I thought I'd try using
the
"ya'll" greeting instead of the Northern
version: "You all". I guess they
are just more efficient at using words than us
Minnesotans. This past
weekend we had a blast down in Georgia doing kids
shows. We met some really great Go Fish fans!
Ever since we have been doing "KIDS"
music we have seen our music spread into parts
of the country we have never been before. This
weekend was a perfect example. We met new faces
from: Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, and
even Virginia. So many families made an entire
weekend out of our concert, and that always amazes
us. We are humbled to think that you would go
so far out of your way to go to a concert and
spend your hard earned money on travel, tickets,
etc., just to come and hang out. That
is one of the most rewarding things about what
we do; to see our music make a difference in families
lives.
I thought I'd
write and say thanks to those who were willing
to give up a weekend just to spend a couple hours
with the Go Fish Guys. It's much more fun when
you show up. It's just not the same singing to
ourselves!
Hope to see
many more of you this summer.

Keeping in
touch with our fans is one of my favorite things
about Go
Fish. If you don't already know, between the three
of us, we make sure that all the day to day details
get done. I happen to be the one who fills online
orders (when we're not out on the road) as well
as answering Go Fish email and fan mail. Just
today I have sent orders to Texas, Florida, California,
and New York just to name a few. I have also replied
to several emails that came from other countries,
letting us know how much they are enjoying our
music over seas. How cool is that? The exciting
part is that we never know where our music reaches,
and who it will impact. That is ultimately the
reason we do what we do. As Go Fish, we want to
be fishers of men. (see Matthew 4:19 in your Bible)
Music is how we communicate our faith. Nothing
else is more important.
When the day
is done, and I am in my bed, I rest easy knowing
that the
post office is delivering packages all over the
country. It is one of the
many ways we "Go Fishing" without even
getting in a boat!

Well, as you
can see by the picture, I haven't been in Minnesota
lately. I
had always promised Amber that we would take a
break from winter and head South for some relaxing
in the sun. This was the year. Last week we cashed
in some frequent flyer miles and headed for Sarasota,
FL. The weather was perfect. 83 degrees
and sunny every day. Not bad when you know that
all your friends are dealing with 20 degrees and
snow back home. However, since my extremely Caucasian
skin was still in shock, I protected myself with
sunscreen, t-shirt, hat, glasses, and a beach
umbrella. I know this all sounds ridiculous, but
I just had to send the picture to prove it. Amber
laughs everyday at this picture and shows all
our friends. And since all of you are MY friends,
I thought I would share it with you..................to
remind you just how "cool" I really
am.
Giddy
up Cowboy!!!
Now if I could
only remember where I parked my horse.

Hey everybody.
We have met so many new friends this month out
on the road, and have run into many familiar faces
as well. Just the other night as we were about
to go on stage, the three of us were once again
perplexed by the fact that so many of you spend
your hard earned money to come out and see a show.
We absolutely love what we do. However, we wouldn’t
be able to do this if YOU didn’t enjoy it
as much as we do. We never want to take that for
granted.
We also realize
that many of you have been kind enough to invite
a neighbor kid, or a co-worker who might not have
heard of Go Fish before. It is our prayer that
our music can have an impact in some way on those
who attend. Let the fishing continue!!!
Matthew 4:19
“Follow me and I will make you fishers of
men.”
Thanks for hanging out, I will write again soon.
It’s lunch time now, and green bean casserole
is calling my name. MMMMMMmmmmm………

Fall is in
the air, and we have been quite busy lately as
most of you
know. We have met many new faces all over the
country the past few weeks. Last week, we traveled
to Dallas where we performed for 6000 women at
the National MOPS Convention. The second day we
were down there, Jamie was battling a cold, and
decided to rest during the afternoon. Andy and
I decided to look for an adventure in the swimming
pool. As we jumped in, Amber, my wife, snapped
this picture. As you can see, we are in prime
form. I like usual, am plugging my nose because
I always get water up there. (I know, I'm a nerd)
Andy, as you can see, was borrowing a pair of
my shorts that had no draw string to hold them
up. He decided to make his own by hanging onto
them as he dove. I don't suppose we will be joining
the synchronized swim team any time soon!!!!
Hope you enjoy
the pics...... -Jason

Good morning-
Last night
I hung out at the Minnesota Sate Fair with a few
friends.
The best thing about the fair is the variety.
One minute you have buttery corn lips. Next, you
are admiring how much the largest boar weighs.
(that's a male pig for you city folk) To top it
all off, I ran into a familiar face, and had to
capture the moment with my camera. Good ole' Janie
Peterson from Channel 9. Bet she never thought
her face would make it to the Go Fish website!
Now that's what I call a fun day!
Oh well, thanks
Janie. That's all for me! Enjoy the fair, and
eat a few
ears of corn for me.

Well, another
summer is almost over. Booooooo!!! I'm not sure
if I'm
ready for cold winter nights yet. I have been
enjoying the outdoors as much as I can and have
taken a few trips out of state. One of them recently
took place in the Black Hills of South Dakota.
I had never been out there before, but heard that
the winding roads had to be experienced on a motorcycle.
So.....I decided to see them in person. Amber
and I were joined by some really cool relatives.
In our house, we refer to them as, "THE FAM".
Nate and Amy Truman joined us as we rode into
the mountains of Custer State Park and visited
a few stone-faced Presidents. We even found our
way to Sturgis, but were not willing to endure
the 99 degree temperature for more than an hour
or so. Besides, we were the "outsiders".
I'm not sure our foreign bikes were welcome. Fearing
we would get beat up if we didn't leave town,
we decided to take our picture and go on our merry
way. We are thinking of starting our own Sturgis
club by making t-shirts that say "WE RODE
STURGIS 2005 ON OUR HONDA-DAVIDSON" or something
like that. Anyway, we had a blast.
Hope you enjoy
the last few weeks of summer. I am excited to
visit the Minnesota State Fair once again this
week. We will be on air live with Chuck and John.
Stop by and say hi!!!

Hey everybody.
I thought I'd let you know that I bought a tractor
so I can finally start my own farm! Do you think
it's big enough? Actually, as this picture was
being taken on the 4th of July a few weeks back,
I was dreaming that I owned this beautiful green
machine. Maybe I could just borrow it to mow my
lawn! (5 seconds later.......done).
I had the privilege
of driving a tractor and wagon for Kinze Manufacturing
(agricultural company) in a parade in Iowa. It
was actually the first parade I've been in where
I didn't have a trombone in hand. I think I prefer
the diesel smoke any day! Hope you enjoy the picture.

Hey everybody-
Well, it is
official. I have now been married for 2 whole
years. Wow. Time flies when you’re having
fun. Yesterday Amber and I celebrated our anniversary
and it was most excellent. I’ll admit, I’m
not the most romantic person on earth. However,
when push comes to shove, I manage to do something
out of the ordinary (like order some flowers)
and I manage to bring a smile to a girl’s
face.
Why do girls
like flowers so much anyway? I still haven’t
figured that one out. I have caught myself a few
times smelling them when I walk by. Ok, I admit
it, they smell good. I guess if it’s anything
like the feeling I get when I get a new tool for
my shop, I could relate.
This past weekend
the sun was shining for the first time in weeks.
We enjoyed time outside with the parental units
at a nearby park and took some pictures. I thought
I would share one with you. This is what happens
when I get so excited that the weather is finally
nice, and I run around so hard that my legs quit
working and Amber has to carry me home as a backpack.
Just kidding. Enjoy!

Hello friends!
Are you excited
for Spring like I am? My place measured about
17 inches of snow last week during a late winter
storm. I sure love Minnesota! Luckily I have an
awesome neighbor that blows my driveway open every
time it snows. What a great guy! ( I personally
think he just looks for a good excuse to use heavy
machinery) I don’t blame him. “Thanks
neighbor Mike!”
If you’re
wondering why I’m writing this, it’s
because Mike reminded me that I too should help
people who are in need. He didn’t knock
on my door, and ask if he could help me, he just
did. He came over early in the morning, before
my crusty eyes were functioning, and just started
plowing. Believe me- judging by the size of drifts
in my driveway, it would have been at LEAST a
two hour shoveling job!
If someone
you know needs help with yard work, grab a rake.
If someone needs a listening ear, give them yours.
If someone needs a meal, take them yours. Most
importantly, if someone needs a Savior, introduce
them to Christ. Nothing could be more important!
Thanks for
the lesson neighbor Mike. I needed it.

Hello to everyone
who still checks this occasionally!
As many of
you know, we all had an incredible time at our
kids concerts during the last two weekends! The
support you have shown to us has truly been amazing.
We enjoyed giving many hi-5’s in the crowd
as we sang to many kids, parents, and yes, many
older kids as well. (Grandparents) Come on, you
never REALLY grow up............... It just gets
harder to move around, that’s all.
Most importantly,
we hope for those of you who saw us for the first
time, or the tenth time, know that the most important
thing in life is knowing Christ. If you have taken
time to read the 10 commandments in the BIBLE,
you know that we ALL need HIM. It is our prayer
that the “TEN COMMANDMENT BOOGIE”
is something that you do every day. If you have
any questions, please ask us after our next concert,
or at least pick up a Bible immediately!!! NOTHING
could be more important than that!
-Let the Fishing
continue. See ya soon! |
